Christianna is up to 1220 grams (2 lbs 11 oz). The doctors took her off her caffeine on Thursday. They use caffeine for the same reason why people drink coffee, stimulation (to stay alert). As of 6 pm tonight, Christianna has been off her nasal cannula for 24 hours. Last night, the nurses moved her to the intermediate nursery. We got to feed Christianna, her bottle tonight and she took all 20 ml on her own.
Christianna is an answer to prayers. Lots of people have been praying that she would gain weight and she is growing like a bad weed, well in this case a good weed :) We also have been praying that she would start breathing without assistance and for 24 hours she has been doing just that. Our prayer is now that Christianna well keep all of that up and that she would start controlling her temperature better.
Hey mom what's up?!
So glad Christianna is doing so well. God has worked overtime with our little girls! :) What an amazing Creator we serve! I love my weekend peaks at Christianna, she is so precious! Debbie and I like to call her "little bird" but if she continues this weight gain we will need another name!
ReplyDeleteLook at those big eyes and Mommy's nose:)Yes God has worked overtime. So you went off your caffeine? You will be a big girl by the time the flu season is over and we can get back down.

ReplyDeleteSo sorry I have not been able to post...for some reason the blog has not allowed me to, but maybe it will work this time!! I love staying up to date on Christianna's progress, and so glad she is doing so well. It is hard to believe she is a month old. The 3 of you continue to be in our prayers. Her bath pictures reminded me of Taylor because Debbie also gave Taylor her first bath ;)
ReplyDeleteLots of love and prayers to you guys,
Dana, David, and Taylor
Now being a parent myself I can know better how much you care about & love Christianna. I am so glad things are progressing for her. I know you must be so excited about taking her home for the first time & really starting your life at home with her. I am so glad that God has been helping her the way He has!! Before you know it she will have rolls of fat & be hard to keep up with. :-)
